CRC Irrigation Futures
Postgraduate development

Obtaining a CRC for Irrigation Futures scholarship also brings with it substantial benefits through the support given to the postgraduate group. The CRC is committed to creating a learning environment across all Universities, which develops a collaborative cohort of postgraduate students across all disciplines.

The CRC also provides students with exceptional access to leading senior researchers and industry people to provide the opportunity for mentoring and networking beyond that provided by the student's supervisors. This is achieved by;

  • Attendance at the CRC's Annual Research Forum, including a day exclusively set aside for the postgraduate students;
  • An Initial industry induction process to ensure applicants understand the context and importance of their work;
  • Attendance at a "Commercialisation Boot Camp" aimed at ensuring that all postgraduates have a sound understanding of research commercialisation/utilisation practice in a private and public good environment;
  • Ensure that all post graduates operate within an existing area of CRC for Irrigation Futures research which will provide additional resources and data sets for analysis and review; and
  • Facilitation of special interest discussion groups and support networks.
